Inspiration has often been visually translated into the bolt of lightning...a rather melodramatic image, but one with more pizzazz than the light bulb going off over one's head! I hope that everyone has had such moments of creative clarity; those special, mysterious blessings from the gods; that sweet inspiration! I have had my share, the hair standing on the back of my neck, one eyebrow raised, suddenly seeing my art with keener vision.
This anthology of comics, the best of the class of 2007; is filled with inspiration, those happy lightning bolts from the heavens! These young cartoonists and illustrators are amazingly talented, and the variety of styles, approaches to narrative, and cultural and gender diversities, are an inspiration to the faculty who guided these artists on their college journey.
For these graduates, we see only blue skies, and may their unique bright eyes never be dimmed!
