The SVA Alumni Society works to provide support for SVA’s most promising students. The Alumni Society Board of Directors is made up of a dynamic group of SVA alumni and administrators, who have successful careers in a range of creative fields, and are passionate about giving back to the SVA community. The Board meets quarterly to plan and guide a broad range of programming and is continually working to find the best ways to back SVA’s most talented students and strengthen the SVA community.

Anthony P. Rhodes is chairman of the Alumni Society and executive vice president of the School of Visual Arts. He is responsible for overseeing all of the society’s programs and awards, and is one of its top-level donors. 

Joe Burrascano Joe Burrascano is the owner of Nathan Love, an animation, art and concept-development studio based in New York City. Joe has directed more than 40 television, film, video game and web projects, and has helped build brands for companies such as Baskin-Robbins, Electronic Arts, McGraw-Hill, NBC, Nickelodeon and Pop Secret. At SVA, in addition to his involvement with the Alumni Society, Joe is a regular guest lecturer and thesis advisor in the Computer Art Department. www.nathanlove.com
Michael Halsband, fine art photographer, has made portraits of many high-profile artists, actors, musicians and celebrities. He is also known for his surfing photographs. His work has been published in numerous books and periodicals, including Gotham magazine and Surf Book. His photographs have been exhibited around the world and can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Lyn Hughes is a New York City-based photographer specializing in lifestyle, food and event photography. She has done work for Cosmopolitan, NBC, 20th Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company. A graduate of SVA, Lyn serves as vice president of the Alumni Society. www.lynhughesphoto.com
Sam Modenstein is treasurer of the Alumni Society and responsible for overseeing the society’s finances. She is also SVA’s executive director of external relations, the arm of the College that supports SVA alumni through career development, alumni programming and services, exhibitions and media relations.
Romaine Orthwein is a fine art photographer who has had solo exhibitions in New York City and Los Angeles. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections and has been published in numerous publications in Europe and the United States, including Esquire, Glue and Next Level. Todd Radom is a graphic designer responsible for many logos used by American sports teams, including the Washington Nationals and the Anaheim Angels. His distinctive use of typography and inclusion of classic visual elements can also be seen in his designs for the logos of Super Bowl XXXVIII and the NBA All-Star Game. He has established a scholarship fund earmarked for graphic design majors with a group of fellow SVA alumni. www.toddradom.com

Lisa Rettig-Falcone is an executive creative director / copywriter at global communications giant EuroRSCG NY. With expertise in handling automotive, technology and financial accounts, she works extensively on new business. She has received ADDY, Athena and CLIO awards, as well as citations from Communications Arts, Creativity, Graphis and the One Show. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, Lisa teaches advertising at the College.

Tim Rollins is a conceptual artist and art teacher known for his work with at-risk youth through Kids of Survival (KOS), an organization that he founded. His has had solo shows at the Dia Center for the Arts and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and has appeared in group exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian Institution and the Whitney Museum of American Art. His work has appeared in The New York Times, ARTnews, Frieze and Art in America.
