International students participating in the ESL/Studio Program are eligible for summer housing at the 23rd Street Residence (formerly known as New Residence). After the students have paid their housing deposit and placement fee and are enrolled in the ESL/Studio Program, they will be administratively assigned to housing for the summer in a shared room in the 23rd Street Residence. They will also receive email communication from the Residence Life Office regarding their housing assignment and completing the application for fall housing. ESL Students who have a fall housing reservation will remain in their summer housing rooms until their fall rooms are ready.

The 23rd Street Residence Hall (formerly known as New Residence), is an apartment-style residence hall located next door to SVA’s Main building, which makes it very convenient to access the campus quickly. Apartments are two or three bedroom apartments with shared doubles (2 people per room.) The 23rd Street Residence Hall is also connected to SVA's Student Center, where students meet for special events, arcade games, club meetings, and for doing homework.
