Visual Arts Student Association (VASA)
The Visual Arts Student Association, VASA, is the governing body designed to represent the interests and needs of the student body at the School of Visual Arts. VASA acts as a liaison for students, faculty, administration and staff. The three elected VASA officers and the hired staff organize specific events and programs based on students' needs and suggestions. The officers also have monthly meetings with the College president to discuss student concerns.
VASA oversees all student clubs at the School of Visual Arts. Students can join any college-sponsored club or activity. If a student has a particular interest, he/she can create a club if it does not currently exist. VASA also sponsors various parties and events throughout the year, which are designed to help students interact and meet fellow SVA students. These events include the Senior Graduation Week, the Halloween Party, Bowling, and Student Government Week, to name a few. Coupled with these events are the club-sponsored activities that work in conjunction with the VASA events to provide students with a variety of campus activities in which they can participate.
