Roommate and/or suitemate(s) requests must be submitted via email to roommaterequest@sva.edu. Phone or Fax requests will not be considered. Each resident must submit his or her own roommate/suitemate request.

After you have submitted your roommate request, you will receive an auto response letting you know that we have received it. Please do not call or email again regarding the roommate/suitemate request. You will receive your roommate assignment when you receive your housing assignment.

The email should read as such:

RE Line: “Building Name”

For a roommate in a double:
"My name is 
I have registered for a Double. 
I would like to room with ."

Suitemates and roommate: 
"My name is 
I have registered for a . 
I would like to room with 
and we would like to be suitemates with ."

Example, if you have a single room at Ludlow and want to be suitemates with your two best friends in the double next you, you would write:
RE: Ludlow
“My name is Judy Smith
I have registered for a Ludlow Single. 
I would like to be suitemates with:
Joanna Roberts 
Jane Jones.”

Mixed-gender roommates and/or suitemates are permitted. However, we will not place mixed gendered roommates in an apartment with other roommate/suitemates that are not acquainted with you and your roommate. If ALL of the roommate/suitemates are requesting to live with each other, then your request will be considered. If we are unable to accommodate your request, then you will be placed in a same gender apartment.
