Visit our ContinuEd Project Space, where we are pleased to present drawings by SVACE students Else Heinsen and Marc Starr. They exhibit this artwork in conjunction with Elaine Breiger’s "Etching Workshop,” where they have been students for more than five years.
According to the artists:
"The works displayed are the result of Elaine inspiring us to collaborate. We combined Else’s textural and Marc’s geometric design orientations to explore the outcomes on several different mediums (metal, fabric and paper)."
"Utilizing a variety of oil based colored inks as well as process black ink; we printed etched zinc plates directly on aluminum plates or strips of 100% cotton muslin fabric and then offset those images onto high quality rag paper. Various techniques were employed in realizing the final works including aquatint, color intaglio, surface and rainbow rolls, as well as viscosity inking with rollers of varying hardness."
