The traditional boundaries of higher education are shifting dramatically and the practice of sharing expert knowledge with a geographically dispersed student body is becoming the norm. SVA has carefully implemented digital learning tools to increase access to instructors and foster stronger relationships among students and alumni. Through our low residency graduate programs, online professional and continuing studies courses, and open education resources, students can tap into the College’s talented community of creative professionals from any corner of the world.
SVA offers several options for students to earn graduate degrees largely through online courses. During the fall and spring semesters, students complete all coursework online, allowing them to learn, produce a robust body of art work, and participate in lively groups critiques and discussions from their own home. Then they convene in New York City for two months during the summer months to study in person.
