Fall semester classes are held on Saturdays in three-hour sessions over 10 weeks.

Fall 2019 courses are scheduled to begin Saturday, September 21 and conclude Saturday, November 23. 

It is possible for students to register for two courses during the fall program. Please be sure to select a course scheduled 10:00am-1:00pm and a course scheduled 1:00pm-4:00pm. Please email [email protected] or call 212.592.2101 with questions regarding the program.

Online Registration Instructions

Students must register online:

  • Please click on the Course Offerings dropdown menu.
  • Select a course by clicking on the individual course link.
  • View the course description and click on the Register For Course tab.
  • You will be taken to WebAdvisor to complete the online registration.
  • Please be sure to provide accurate address and phone information.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Provide both parent and student emails. All communication is sent to the email(s) on file.
  • A tuition payment of $775 is required in order to complete the online registration. 
  • You will receive an automated email informing you that your registration is complete if the payment was processed correctly.

  • Course details and supply lists will be emailed one week before the course begins.
Scholarship Information

President's Scholarship

A limited number of merit-based scholarships are available for the fall semester. The scholarship award is full-tuition. Students who have not pre-registered will be contacted and registered for their intended course based on availability. Students who have already registered will be reimbursed for tuition only. Course fees and supplies are the responsibility of the student. 

The Fall 2019 Pre-College President’s Scholarship application portal closed on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. 

All students wishing to apply for scholarship are asked to submit 5 of their strongest works via the SlideRoom portal linked above. Students are encouraged to submit at least 2 pieces created from direct observation. Students applying for a lens-based class (Film or Photography and Video) are not required to submit any drawing or painting work. 

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Recipients of the scholarship will be notified by Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

Please note: Only scholarship recipients will be notified of their award via email.

Tuition & Fees

Fall 2019 Tuition: $775 per course

Supplies range between $30-$300 depending on the course selection. Specific supply lists will be emailed one week before the course begins. 

The following courses have an additional course fee for the use of equipment and supplies:

You must bring a picture ID and a copy of the emailed course document with you every Saturday to enter the building. A current high school ID or state ID may be used. The security guard will not let you enter the building without the printed course document and identification. Please bring these two items to class each Saturday to show the security officer. There is no orientation meeting to attend prior to the class starting. Students go directly to class on the first day.

Refund Policy

Refund requests must be received in writing and emailed to [email protected] Please include the student's full name and course number. Fall tuition refunds will be issued according to the following schedule:

  • Before the first class session - 100% of tuition
  • Before the second class session - 90% of tuition
  • Before the third class session - 80% of tuition
  • There are no course fee refunds after September 21, 2019 and no refunds for withdrawals after the third class session.
Transcript Requests

Official SVA eTranscripts can be requested HERE and will be delivered as a secure PDF file via email within the same day. If you have any outstanding holds on your account, those must be cleared before transcripts will be released. If you are sending official transcripts to another institution through this service, please ensure they will accept electronic transcripts prior to submitting your request.

If you require a printed copy of your transcript, download the Transcript and Enrollment Request Form at sva.edu/registrar and return the completed form to [email protected]

If you need a personal copy of your transcript, you can download or print a transcript immediately from MyServices Student. You will need your MySVA username and password to access your transcript.
