  • Areas of study: Architecture, Art History, Art Therapy, Design, Painting, Photography and more
  • One - four-week programs available

The Arts Abroad program offers students creative, educational and cultural opportunities to explore new directions in the arts within university and professional environments in other parts of the world. The program enables students to expand their own artistic vision, and to incorporate the spirit of travel into an intense study of art while earning college credit.

In keeping with SVA tradition, Arts Abroad instructors are drawn from the world of working professionals. These professionals share a wealth of information and experience with students. Coupled with inspiring locations and visits to fascinating places and local art museums, Arts Abroad makes for an unforgettable learning experience. By immersing students in cultures that inspired the masters, SVA students are presented with a grand opportunity for serious work flavored with international adventure. Students return from Arts Abroad programs with new insights and enthusiasm about their own work, and art in general. Incoming students may be eligible to participate in the Arts Abroad summer program prior to their enrollment at SVA.

SVA offers several programs in different disciplines throughout Europe and in Bali, China, Croatia, Cuba, France, Italy and Spain. For more information, contact the Office of International Studies at 212.592.2543 or email studyabroad@sva.edu.
