It was a great opportunity to exchange some knowledge and be more open minded.

Country of origin: Poland

In which Residency Program(s) did you participate?
Typography as Language, 2015

What led you to participate in the Summer Residency Program?
I was curious about type design - which I have never tried before, about SVA as a school, and about living one month in NY - so I decided to give all three of those a try!

What was the best part of your experience at SVA?
Learning new tools with the help of great typography designers who were our tutors for the time of the residency; it was a really great opportunity! Big thanks to all of them - they were truly amazing!

How did the Residency Program contribute to your development as a professional designer?
It gave me some first-hand experience with type design, helped me use typography with a bigger understanding in my projects, and encouraged me to start practicing type design and develop in that direction.

What's going on in your studio now?
At a moment I'm working as a graphic and UX designer.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your experiences in the program or after?
I suppose it was really nice to meet people from different universities and art schools, and compare our experience and ideas and the way we work - it was a great opportunity to exchange some knowledge and be more open minded.
