BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department Chair Richard Wilde has been named a 2013 inductee to the prestigious One Club Educator’s Hall of Fame, only the second person aside from Creative Circus co-founder Robert Lawson to receive this honor. Hired by SVA founder Silas H. Rhodes to chair the Advertising Department in 1971, Wilde is considered one of the grand masters in design education and is being recognized by the One Club for expanding the field of visual communications during his 40-plus years at SVA. The induction ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 6:30pm at Gotham Hall in New York City.

Author of the widely-used design textbook Visual Literacy, Wilde is also Hall of Fame laureate of the Art Directors Club (ADC) and has won over 200 professional awards, including gold medals from ADC, AIGA, Creativity, The One Show and the Society of Illustrators, as well as an International ANDY Award and CLIO Award.
