Zackary Drucker (BFA 2005 Photography) describes herself as “an independent artist, cultural producer, and trans woman who breaks down the way we think about gender, sexuality, and seeing.” To say she’s been successful at it would be an understatement. Her installation at the 2014 Whitney Biennial, Relationship, which documented Drucker and her partner as they transitioned genders, was called “extremely provocative” by The New York Times, and a recent book version of the project was praised by New York magazine as “striking.” (To watch a video interview with Drucker about the project, click here.)

Drucker is also a producer on the Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning Amazon series Transparent, whose third season begins on September 23. SVA caught up with Drucker to find out more about what it’s like working on the critically acclaimed show.
