May 12, 2016
The School of Visual Arts is pleased to announce its first-ever Makers Market, to be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion, located at 125 West 18th Street, on Saturday, June 11, from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Admission is free.
The inaugural SVA Makers Market celebrates the entrepreneurial, do-it-yourself spirit of SVA’s alumni community and features 60 SVA vendors selling apparel, accessories and jewelry; furniture, decorative objects and housewares; and stationery and self-published books, magazines and comics. Notable items on offer include notebooks from Baron Fig; Carrier Pigeon, a quarterly journal of illustrated fiction and fine art; the Keyboard Waffle Iron, created by Chris Dimino, the former art director of The Late Show with David Letterman; and products from designer Richard Clarkson including Cloud, an interactive lamp and speaker system that has received press coverage in outlets from BuzzFeed to Fast Company to Wired.
