Introducing the Fall/Winter 2019 "Visual Arts Journal"

Over the next two weeks, the fall/winter 2019 edition of SVA's magazine, Visual Arts Journal, will arrive at some 38,000 doorsteps all over the world, keeping the College's growing alumni community up-to-date with news about their fellow graduates, the creative industries at-large and what's happening on campus. Copies of the magazine will also be available at various locations on campus, and a digital version will be posted to the Journal's page on Issuu—where anyone can read, share or download the magazine as a PDF.

In the next days and months, selected content from the latest Journal will also appear on sva.edu—so stay tuned for more.

Here are some highlights from the fall/winter 2019 edition of the Visual Arts Journal:

- A portfolio of sculptural work by Trish Tillman (MFA 2009 Fine Arts), whose latest exhibition, "Shore Leave," is on view at fellow MFA Fine Arts alumnus Asya Geisberg's Manhattan gallery from November 7 through December 20.

- An illustrated guide to making your own hardcover book, by Wes Bedrosian (MFA 1996 Illustration as Visual Essay).

- Three alumni who are living and working in one of the world's great creative capitals, Mexico City.

- A visit to the offices of The California Sunday Magazine, where Jacqueline Bates (MFA 2009 Photography, Video and Related Media; BFA 2004 Photography) and Annie Jen (BFA 2013 Design) are part of the creative team behind the innovative and award-winning publication.

- The multidisciplinary team behind the forthcoming marquee planetarium show at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, which includes graduates from SVA's MFA Computer Arts and BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects programs.
