Simultaneously fascinated by and skeptical of the over-identification with fantasy inherent in role-play, dissociative disorders and transpersonal experiences, Brody Condon’s recent work combines modified psychotherapeutic and live role-playing techniques to craft "performative game engines" that run durational and unscripted small group encounters which are then filmed. Condon's work has been presented at Momentum: The Nordic Biennial, Norway (2015), The Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow (2015), the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LA (2011), MoMA/P.S.1, NY (2010), the New Museum in conjunction with Performa, NY (2009) and the Whitney Biennial, NY (2004).
