Designing Tattoos and Emblems at SVACE

Artist John Reardon introduces a new course.

We are excited to introduce our first course in tattoo design, Designing Tattoos and Emblems, taught by John Reardon. Practicing tattoo design and execution since 1998, John works on projects including custom tattoo design, logo and identity design and even painting commissions. He is owner of Greenpoint Tattoo Company and has worked with clients including Blue Rider Press, Penguin Publishing, Brasserie Witlof and Five Leaves NYC.

John’s initial interest came from the tattoos on his father’s arm and he has a fond memory of his father pointing out a back piece at the King Richards Faire in Carver, MA. It was that moment that John was hooked.

John began tattooing at the age of 18 while he attended art school and 21 years later he has carved a path for himself as a successful tattoo artist. John prefers tattooing large-scale work such as a back piece or sleeve in Japanese style.

John was inspired to teach by his own experience as an art student, gratification in sharing his knowledge and helping people learn. Check out his new class this fall Designing Tattoos and Emblems.
