At New York Comic Con 2019

Dressed up and ready to go

At New York Comic Con, SVACE took to the floor to capture the expansive creativity of cosplayers, vendors and all things comic related! NYCC draws artists locally and worldwide, providing them with the space to connect directly to their fan base or make new connections in the Artist Alley. This year’s convention sold more than 200,000 tickets, presenting eager fans with a line-up of big-name panels and screenings. NYCC’s core is definitely with the fans, and we caught up with two cosplayers who were enjoying themselves at the con this past Sunday.

Who are you cosplaying today?

Sarah Mitchell: “Starfire from Teen Titans.”

Johnathan Cantor: “Robin from Teen Titans.”

What inspired your cosplay?

Sarah Mitchell: “I loved Starfire as a kid! It was an easy look and I sewed the entire piece myself.”

Johnathan Cantor: “I chose something that would be in the same universe as Sarah. We’ve been matching our cosplays all weekend!”
