This lecture-and-demonstration series will introduce students to basic traditional and digital photographic theory and technique. We will discuss how to apply photographic principles and materials effectively to achieve improved picture quality while avoiding errors and wasted effort. Topics include: exposure and exposure meters, film and print development, filters, basic lighting and flash, cameras, lenses, color and film, basic digital applications. The differences between digital and traditional photographic methods will be highlighted and discussed.
