This is not your usual life-drawing course. For a more theatrical and experimental context and image-making environment, static and moving image projections will be used alongside of or behind the model (landscapes, interiors, clouds) or over the live model (skeleton adjusted to model's proportion). A video camera will also be used to project specific details of the live model (hands, feet or face) and to demonstrate lighting and foreshortening from a controlled point of view. Working from memory, working in tracing paper layers and various drawing media will be explored. You can expect every week to be challenging and different.
PREREQUISITE: A basic drawing course, or equivalent.
NOTE: Please bring your favorite drawing materials to the first session.
