How to create animal portraits from photographs is the focus of this course. Using colored pencils, paint, watercolor and gouache, students will explore these mediums to create a timeless memory of your pet. From the beautiful to the bizarre, whether a straight rendering or a suggestion of personality, a variety of concepts and imagery from the classical to the surreal can be added to your pet's portrait. Students will receive individual and group instruction. NOTE: Please bring photographs of the pet you wish to protray, a Strathmore Bristol vellum paper pad (14x17''), a Borden & Riley vellum sheer trace pad (14x17'') and graphite pencils (HB, 2B and 6B) to the first session.
