This course will combine hands-on drawing with a look at art that chronicles particular ongoing experiences. Art studied will range from 14th-century Japanese pilgrimage scrolls to contemporary artists who use drawings to create narrative. The course will assist students in finding and refining their own voice in creating a drawn documentary.
Note: Please bring drawing or sketching paper (11x14" or 14x17"), 3 to 4 pencils (2H, 4H, 2B, 4B), sketchbook or notebook (any size/style), an eraser (gummy, kneaded or Mars plastic) and a pencil sharpener or razor to the first session.
