This course offers a hands-on approach to basic cinematography practices. Students will work on their own lighting set- ups that will support the context of the story for film and digital media. Topics to be discussed and demonstrated via scene setup exercises include camera controls, lenses, exposures, film stock, speed/ISO, composition, motion, quality of light and functionality, color, visual continuity, and the blending of light and shadow for interiors and exteriors. Arri SR1-16mm film and Cannon EOS C-100 cameras will be used.
