Description

The role of the photographer has changed from being a solitary still shooter to working with a production team that captures stills, sound and motion assets to create compelling video content. This exciting hands-on course will examine how to shoot and light for video, manage sound capture and syncing, and edit still and video assets for online and screen presentations. Additionally, we will address how to manage and import files, use keyframing and simple transitions to create a compelling story in a timeline, and correct rendering and encoding settings to create professional results. The video capabilities of Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere will also be explored.
PREREQUISITES: SWC-2221, Weekend Photoshop, and SWC-2251, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom: Organize and Process, or equivalent.
NOTE: Please bring a portable hard drive and a digital SLR camera with video capabilities, required cables, chargers and card reader each session.

Your mobile phone is a creative tool that allows you to explore, capture and create with ease and pleasure. In this fun and fastpaced workshop you will explore how to see and photograph with your iPhone and how to use a variety of imaging applications to process panoramas and collages, and apply numerous creative effects. The class will participate in a photowalk and explore a wide variety of apps to select, edit, process and combine images to create unique works of art.
PREREQUISITE: SMC-2221, Design with Pixels: Photoshop Principles and Imaging, or equivalent.
NOTE: Please bring a notebook and an iPhone with cables, chargers,and any photo accessories you have. Please insure that your iPhone has at least 2GB of free space and that your iTunes account is in good order.

Description

This intensive workshop will concentrate on the Library and Develop modules of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Students will explore how to import, organize, edit a shoot, and add essential metadata. Using the Develop module we will examine how to process and improve a wide variety of files with global exposure, tonal, color, sharpening and lens corrections. The workshop will also address creative techniques such as converting from color to black and white, and working with the Selective Image Editing tools to refine and focus each image to best reflect the artist's intent.
PREREQUISITE: SWC-2221, Weekend Photoshop, or equivalent.

In this second part of the Lightroom weekend series, students will learn about how Adobe Photoshop Lightroom handles color and print output using inkjet printers. With custom books, photographers can create printed portfolios and share photo books as gifts, as well as surprise clients with a giveaway that they will be sure to keep and appreciate. Upon completion of this workshop attendees will have a firm understanding of how to implement a professional- level color-managed digital workflow, make quality prints and layout a photo book with Lightroom.

This workshop is designed for photographers who are making the transition into digital video. We will address camera, hardware and software issues. Most importantly, we will explore how to think, plan and shoot likes a filmmaker. We will cover the essential selections of cameras, lenses, external monitors, follow focus units, fluid heads, support rigs, memory cards and hard drives. The similarities and differences of shooting still photographs and videos will be looked at as we examine resolution, file formats and file types. The business aspects of filmmaking will also be taught, including filmmaking terms, shooting techniques and the responsibilities of crewmembers.
