July 7 - 25, 2008 Program Overview
School of Visual Arts (SVA) Culture, Graphic Design and Fine Arts in New York Summer Program is designed for international college (university) students who want to learn more about fine arts or graphic design and experience American culture by living and studying in New York City. Geared toward students with an intermediate level of English proficiency or higher, the program offers participants the opportunity to improve their language skills with an English as a Second Language (ESL) course. Studio courses are taught by SVA faculty members, who are also working professionals.
On evenings and weekends, students will be able to take part in a range of organized activities, including guided tours to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Broadway musicals and plays, movie nights and walking tours of NYC.
Students may choose one studio course offered in this program, and will be awarded 2 studio credits for successful completion of the course.
