Students currently enrolled at one of SVA's exchange partner institutions can apply to spend one semester as an exchange student at SVA. Candidates must be nominated by their home institution, and should contact the international exchange coordinator at their school for information on how to be nominated as an exchange candidate. SVA does not participate in the mobility program offered by other member institutions of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art & Design (AICAD). Students currently enrolled at an AICAD college who would like to spend a semester at SVA must apply for admission as a transfer student (apply). Upon admission, these students will be enrolled as matriculating students and will be required to pay the same full-time tuition and fees to SVA as all matriculating students enrolled in the same department. As such, applicants should work closely with their home institution to insure that their absence and subsequent return will proceed without problem.

Students currently enrolled at a regionally accredited college or university or diploma program at a four-year art school who would like to spend a semester at SVA must apply for admission as a transfer student (apply). Upon admission, students will be enrolled as matriculating students and will be required to pay the same full-time tuition and fees to SVA as all matriculating students enrolled in the same department. As such, applicants should work closely with their home institution to insure that their absence and subsequent return will proceed without problem.
