Submit a nonrefundable enrollment fee of $1,000 to the Office of Graduate Admissions by the reply date noted on your acceptance letter. Enrollment fees will be processed as space remains available in your chosen department. Graduate Admissions will confirm receipt of submitted enrollment fees via e-mail.

Deferred Admission and Reapplication
Admission cannot ordinarily be deferred to another academic year.

Extension Limitation
Students who matriculate in one of the College's graduate degree programs must complete their coursework within four years, unless given an official extension by the Coordinator of Academic Advisement.

Summer Entry, MFA Vsual Narrative:
Payment of tution for this program is due May 1st.


Fall Entry, All programs except MFA Art Practice and MFA Visual Narrative:
Beginning in June, all registered students will receive a bill for tuition and fees. Payment of this bill is due August 1st.

Students who will be completing undergraduate studies during the 2012-13 academic year must confirm their degree by having an official, final transcript forwarded to the Office of Graduate Admissions prior to the start of classes.

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the U.S. Department of Education, making sure to list SVA's Title IV code - 007468 - on the form. Once your FAFSA result is on file at SVA, you will receive a notification within 2 to 3 weeks to view your award letter on WebAdvisor accessible from MySVA. FAFSA forms can be submitted online at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Submit an $800 housing deposit ($300 nonrefundable placement fee and $500 security deposit) along with your enrollment fee to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

The Office of Residence Life will e-mail instructions for completing the online housing application to your SVA e-mail address accessible via MySVA.Housing assignments will be emailed starting April 2013. An additional e-mail will be sent with roommate and check-in information by June 2013.

Because of the time needed to issue and process the I-20 paperwork required for your student visa, we recommend you submit the enrollment fee by the reply date noted on your acceptance letter. Please note that your I-20 will not be issued until all financial documentation [Confidential Declaration and Certification of Finances (DOF) and Verification of Finances letter (VOF)] has been submitted and deemed sufficient. The DOF and VOF must be dated within one year of initial enrollment at SVA in order to receive I-20 paperwork.

Once you have submitted the nonrefundable enrollment fee and secured a place in your program, you will be mailed a registration packet which includes details on how to register. You may download and view the 2012-2013 Registration Book via the download module on the right side of this page.

The SVA Student Health form must be completed and approved by the Office of Student Health Services before you will be allowed to register for classes. This office can be contacted at 212.592.2246 or at health@sva.edu

After the tuition billing deadline of August 1st, you must contact the Office of Student Accounts to receive financial clearance before you will be able to register.
