The Office of Alumni Affairs is dedicated to advancing the cultural and educational best interests of its members. Through programs, publications, special events and promotions, the office maintains an active relationship with the alumni and encourages them to support the College's mission to educate future generations of artists, designers, and creative professionals. All degree graduates of SVA are considered alumni.

As an SVA alumnus, a variety of valuable programs and benefits are available to you.

To take advantage of these benefits and to gain access to SVA programs and events, alumni need an alumni ID card, along with a photo ID. Alumni can print out their alumni ID card at alumni.sva.edu/IDcard.

Discounted Theater Tickets
Receive a 15%-50% discount on Broadway and off-Broadway shows. Specific performances vary and restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Please stay tuned for discounts.

Discounted Art Supplies
Receive a 10% discount on items purchased at DaVinci Art Supply, 137 East 23 Street (between 2nd and 3rd avenues) and 132 West 21 Street (between 6th & 7th avenues). Hours: Monday - Friday 8:45am - 7pm,  Saturday-Sunday 10am - 6pm. SVA alumni ID card and photo ID are required at time of purchase.

Brooklyn Artists Space (BAS)
The Brooklyn Artists Space offers opportunities to the  graduate residency and a visiting artist residency. Please visit http://brooklynartspace.org/ for more information.

MOO
What does your business card say about you? MOO cards are to business cards what the iPad is to the newspaper: more compact and more powerful. MOO cards make it easy for visual artists and creative professionals to present different pieces of work to different contacts. One side of the MOO card has your contact and social media information, and the other side has your chosen image. Each order allows you to upload as many as 50 different images. Auto, Home and Renters Insurance
Liberty Mutual offers an auto, home and renters Insurance program for SVA alumni. For more information visit the Liberty Mutual Web site. SVA Alumni can access affordable health insurance programs that can help provide members and their families with comprehensive major medical insurance coverage through JLBG Health, the nation's largest provider of association health plans.

Online Alumni Community
Alumni have access to the SVA online alumni community where you can get in touch with former classmates and network with fellow alumni. Go to alumni.sva.edu.

Career Development
The Office of Career Development hosts workshops and programs designed to educate and inform students and alumni about all aspects of career development in the visual arts. Events are held throughout the year for all students and alumni, who may attend without restriction. Programming includes special lectures, presentations from industry experts, workshops, fairs and networking events. Use of the online job board, www.collegecentral.com/sva, is available to all alumni. The Office of Career Development also provides one-on-one career counseling to alumni for up to four years after graduation. SVA Portfolios on Behance
Join SVA Portfolios, an exclusive and free network for degree-seeking SVA students, alumni and faculty members. Through SVA Portfolios you will gain broader exposure for your work, connect with others in the SVA community and be discovered more easily by potential clients, recruiters, and creative enthusiasts.

Behance was designed to support the creative and business aspects of being an artist. Projects on SVA Portfolios can be built with text, images, audio or video. Members can share tips and media, collaborate on projects, and get feedback from peers or mentors. They can also publish their work on their Facebook and Twitter pages, and sync up their profile with what they have on LinkedIn. The Office of Career Development and the Office of Student Affairs hosted the panel Surviving and Thriving in the Freelance Worldwatch to learn more.  To get started on Behance, log on to http://portfolios.sva.edu.

Continuing Education
Continue your professional development with continuing education classes. A $50 discount per course is applied when alumni ID card is presented upon registration. Model Drawing Sessions
Bring your drawing materials and attend weekly model drawing sessions during the fall and spring semesters at the Solarium in the George Washington Residence Hall located at 23 Lexington Avenue (23rd Street). Co-sponsored by the Office of Residence Life. Alumni ID card and photo ID required for building entry. For the current schedule, click on Upcoming Events.

Visual Arts Library
Alumni have access to computers and in-house research when alumni ID card and photo ID are presented at the circulation desk. The library is also interested in learning about books alumni have illustrated, designed, been featured in and/or written. To be a part of the library's growing collection of alumni books, please send an email with publication details to the library director, robert.lobe@sva.edu.
