Deferred Admission and Reapplication
Admission cannot ordinarily be deferred to another academic year.

Extension Limitation

Financial Aid

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the U.S. Department of Education, making sure to list SVA's Title IV code - 007468 - on the form. Once your FAFSA result is on file at SVA, you will receive a notification within 2 to 3 weeks to view your award letter on WebAdvisor accessible from MySVA. FAFSA forms can be submitted online at fafsa.ed.gov

Financial Aid can be contacted at 212.592.2030 or [email protected]

2017-18 FAFSA Reminder

The federal government has made significant changes to the 2017- 18 FAFSA form.  You can now submit your 2017-18 FAFSA form as early as October 1, 2016 using your 2015 tax information.

You can file the 2017-18 FAFSA form online at fafsa.ed.gov using your FSA ID login credentials to electronically sign.

Housing

Submit an $800 housing deposit ($300 nonrefundable placement fee and $500 security deposit) along with your enrollment fee to Graduate Admissions.

Residence Life will email instructions for completing the online housing application to your SVA email address accessible via MySVA. Housing assignments will be emailed starting April 2016. An additional e-mail will be sent with roommate and check-in information by June 2016.

If you have questions, please email Residence Life at [email protected]

International Applicants

Because of the time needed to issue and process the I-20 paperwork required for your student visa, we recommend you submit the enrollment fee by the reply date noted on your acceptance letter. Please note that your I-20 will not be issued until all financial documentation [Confidential Declaration and Certification of Finances (DOF) and Verification of Finances letter (VOF)] has been submitted and deemed sufficient; online submission of these documents is available through the online application. The DOF and VOF must be dated within one year of initial enrollment at SVA in order to receive I-20 paperwork.

The International Student Office can be contacted at 212.592.2236 or [email protected]

Orientation

Fall 2016 orientation events will take place from August 28 - September 2, 2016. Please check back closer to the start of the semester for a full schedule and more details.
