Program Overview
This three-week summer program offers international college (post-secondary school) students the opportunity to develop their creative abilities in various studio disciplines while experiencing American culture by living and studying in New York City. Courses that combine studio work and English as a Second Language (ESL) study are also offered for students who wish to improve their proficiency in the English language. All studio course instructors are professionals in their respective fields currently working in New York City.
In addition, the program includes a range of organized activities available at no additional cost. Previous activities include visits to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and Metropolitan museum, Broadway musicals and plays, movie nights, walking tours, exploring Times Square and Central Park, etc. On-campus housing (optional) is available for this program.
Students may choose one studio course offered in this program, and will be awarded 2 studio credits for successful completion of the course.

Students applying from overseas must submit all application materials by Friday, April 24, 2009. Students will be accepted based on the qualifications presented in their applications. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis and accepted students will be registered in order of their acceptance. Space is limited to 14 in each course. Applicants already residing in the U.S. may apply after April 24, but are encouraged to apply as soon as possible in order to secure a space in the program. The Office of Programs for International Students will confirm acceptance and registration. All accepted students are required to obtain an F-1 student visa to enter the U.S. or transfer a valid I-20 from another institution to participate in the program.*

For Studio with ESL:
minimum score of 61 on the internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) or 173 on the TOEFL CBT, minimum score of 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent.
For Studio Arts: minimum score of 79 on the internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) or 213 on the TOEFL CBT, minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent.
**Applicants who are native speakers or who have graduated from a school (secondary school level or higher) where the primary language of instruction is English are not required to submit English proficiency test scores. |
| | | Undergraduate college (university) transcripts showing a minimum of one semester completed, or copy of current undergraduate course schedule if enrolled for less than two semesters. |
| | | Tuition Deposit Payment form. $400 tuition deposit required by April 24, 2009. Registered students must pay the balance (remainder of fees for tuition, fees for housing and meal plan if desired) in full no later than June 19, 2009. |

Refund Policy Refunds are available if a written request to officially withdraw is submitted to the Office of Programs for International Students. Failure to complete a course does not constitute an official withdrawal, nor does notifying an instructor, nor does lack of attendance. In case of withdrawl, tuition paid in addition to the deposit will be refunded in full (100%). Deposit refunds will be issued according to the following schedule:
- Before May 29 - 100% of deposit
- Before June 19 - 50% of deposit
There will be no deposit refunds for withdrawls after June 19, 2009.
