SVA encourages all students to visit SVA before applying. Please see below for information on events and open houses. For students who cannot make it to New York City, SVA also participates in regional events and portfolio days.
- Accepted Students Day
SVA is home to one of the largest and most dynamic artistic communities in the world. For an up-close look at the experience of studying here, the Office of Admissions invites accepted students and their families to meet faculty and department representatives and to visit SVA's state-of-the-art facilities. Through a combination of demonstrations, Q&A sessions and other interactive activities, accepted student attendees will sample the vitality of SVA's various programs of study.
The next Accepted Student Day will take place on a Saturday in the spring of 2014.

The School of Visual Arts will host the 2013 Austin and Dallas National Portfolio Days on October 5th and 6th, respectively.
Please visit the NPDA website for more information about the NPDA at www.portfolioday.net.
- Open Houses
During the fall, visitors have an opportunity to meet formally and informally with the president of the College, the chair of each undergraduate department being showcased that day, current SVA students, and members of the admissions, financial aid, residence life and student affairs staffs.
